I probably sound like a broken record by now….every time I post a session from earlier this year I talk about the rainy weather we all endured!  The rain seriously messed with my life for two months and it always seemed to be a part of each session in some way….especially Nicole and  Troy.

Nicole and I used to work together so when she contacted me to tell me Troy had finally popped the question, I was completely thrilled for her and also honored and excited that I would get to photograph her wedding.  She and Troy were high school sweethearts and are now both finally finished with their schooling and ready to start the next chapter of their lives together :)  We set the date for their engagement session and started shooting with dark clouds overhead.  We had barely finished the first outfit when it started to rain and we postponed the rest of the shoot…..

And it rained again…and we rescheduled again…then it rained.  AGAIN.

Regardless of the rain that first day, the images in the field are some of my favorites of Nicole and Troy.

Which brought us to scheduled session number FOUR.  And the sun was actually shining!!!  So glad the rain made us wait for clear skies which provided a completely different look for the rest of the images :)

undefined Nicole and Troy, I am so excited to shoot your wedding..in the same place that I married my high school sweetheart too :)  And hopefully, we have been granted some grace with the rain gods and your wedding day will be bright blue skies!  I think we’ve earned it!

undefined A very wet Spring delayed our shoot with Levi on more than one occasion.  When we finally found a dry day we searched for a location that wouldn’t be too soggy for a very mobile little boy who likes to investigate :)  When he wasn’t picking up rocks and trying to eat them, Levi was full of smiles for me (as long as the cat wasn’t around)…

And I couldn’t resist getting a few with the whole family…I remember this age of my own kids and how crazy it felt then…Sometimes now I long for the simplicity of first steps and sippy cups :)

the funnest way to lose a tooth…
Personal > July 21, 2011

My Trenton has been losing teeth left and right.  I’ve been so excited to see both of his front teeth get looser as the summer as progressed and could already picture him with a giant window just in time for the first day of school!  Last week, one of his teeth had become so loose that it looked VERY crooked and would even stick out of his mouth when he tried to close it!  I had a wedding last Saturday and before I left for the day, I told Trenton, “don’t lose your tooth before I get back….”

We went boating on Sunday, loose tooth and all.  But the story wouldn’t be near as good without pictures to prove it.

The Funnest way to lose a tooth:

Step 1.  Hop on tube with Dad and go for a fun ride!

undefined Step 2:  Hit some waves and be sure your face hits the tube.  Hard.  Notice his mouth and the tooth hanging on…literally!

undefined Step 3:  Don’t panic.  Your dad’s a smart guy.  He instantly realizes you’ve hit your mouth and stops the ride (while he’s laughing).

undefined Step 4:  Dad uses what strength he last left from hanging on to the tube to give your tooth a gentle tug…

undefined Step 5:  Show off your new smile and celebrate knowing the tooth fairy will soon be making a visit!

undefined And don’t forget the last step…keep wiggling the other one ;)  It’s only three weeks until school starts!!!  Hope everyone is staying cool this week!

!!!UPDATE!!!

July 30, 10:00pm

Just two short weeks later, and Trenton is celebrating having his window complete….and the singing of “All I want for Christmas is my Two Front Teeth” is on repeat mode :)  The second tooth came out in a much less dramatic fashion, but the excitement is still the same!
