Tomorrow is the day they’ve waited for…and planned for for months.  I’m certain they didn’t plan on the HEAT that will accompany their outdoor wedding…but I doubt they will mind too much.  Tomorrow is the day they finally become husband and wife.

When I asked where they wanted to have their engagement session, Mandy and Jason both quickly agreed on Indianapolis.  A city they no longer live in but is still very dear to them :)  We met in THE most random location last September and between wardrobe malfunctions that included wrinkles and a few random spots (origin unknown!), a trip to the drug store, rain and I’m sure many other things that have slipped my mind, we still managed to get the images they hoped for.  Mandy and Jason are such an easy, relaxed couple and dealing with the few minor bumps in the road that day proved it.  NO WORRIES….and the best part?  Our insanely random meeting place yielded the coolest accidental location find in history…see wall above :)

After our accidental location #1, I let Jason lead the way to the places he and Mandy had chosen for the rest of the session.  He drove us to the canal, a place I hear is very popular for photographs but I had never been before!  Such a beautiful area and the overcast skies made shooting there so easy :)

Loved all the green accents we found that day as Mandy kept saying how along with her purple dress, was going to match the wedding colors :)

Yes, this umbrella makes random appearances sometimes during my shoots.  No, it’s not a prop.  It only comes out when we NEED it!  Mandy so badly wanted to shoot at a park downtown to incorporate some more colorful backdrops.  Unfortunately, the rain beat us there :(  We managed to snag a few minus the umbrella as the session wrapped up with just a little drizzle to contend with!

A grassy field was also on Mandy’s “wish-list” for engagement looks….well, we weren’t going to find any where we were downtown, especially as the rain was getting worse.  But WAIT!  We spotted a TINY patch of weeds..with the skyline behind.  Perfecto!!!

Mandy and Jason, everything went our way the last time we met…even when it looked like it wouldn’t.  I’m not gonna lie.  The heat tomorrow will be a bit much…but I have no worries that everything will be flawless.  There will be  no rain on your wedding day.  Any minor wardrobe malfunctions will not require wrinkle releaser.  It will be all that you had hoped for and more :)  See you tomorrow…and make sure you remember the sunscreen ;)

Can’t believe I didn’t get these posted before the wedding…grrr….So, if you follow me on facebook you’ve already seen quite a few previews of Cassy and Jenson’s gorgeous wedding.  Their engagement session includes more of the same :)  Since Cassy and Jenson chose to have a short engagement (love that–I was engaged for over a year and hated it!), we were so thankful that it warmed up early this year to sneak this session in before the wedding!

Cass and I had shared numerous emails and pinterest boards up to this point so I already had a good idea of her style and also the look they were creating for their wedding, which helped in finding the perfect settings for their images!

A little earthy, a little sparkle.  And this is about where the drama started for the night….We had some wind issues with our sparkly look.  Oh well, we made it happen…then as I was tromping through the field, I stomped onto the biggest thorn!  The thing was instantly buried in my heel and it hurt!  Cassy to the rescue..I still can’t believe she had tweazers in her bag!  When I finally got it out of my foot, it looked less like a thorn and more like a TREE!  So that was our drama for the night, glad it only lasted a few minutes ;)

Really, Cassy…you’re what I call “roll out of bed pretty,” meaning you probably awake each morning looking like this…and I hate you ;)

These two have the best body language/chemistry/affection….seriously.

Honestly, could these two be any cuter together?!  And Jenson can pull off the suspender look better than anyone I’ve ever met!

I love that we finished the session at Jenson’s grandparent’s house, sitting on the bank of their pond in the old boat.  Jenson and Cassy, thank you so much for a fun night…and for saving me from a possible life-threatening splinter…and for not thinking I create drama wherever I go ;)  I will have wedding images for you very soon!!!!!

welcome amos!

Such a sweet edition to this perfect family, meet Amos.  If you follow the blog, you may remember watching his big brother Levi grow from an infant to one year old not that long ago!  Amos made his arrival in March and  a few days later, I made my arrival to0 to photograph the little man and new family of five :)  I always love my visits with Julie, Jon + crew.  Mom and dad are always so relaxed and make me feel right at home.  Big sis Esther didn’t want me to take too many pictures for fear that we would miss out on play time with her ;)  I did manage to read a book or two to she and Levi while Amos took a little break..doing so I realized I need to work on my “character voices.”  I’m kind of out of practice!

Amos is such a beautiful baby.  Bright eyes and so alert….Julie told me that his blonde hair is a little hard to get used to since both Esther and Levi were born with full heads of dark hair!

Levi has taken his role of big brother very seriously.  Julie joked that he’s a little too helpful at times ;)  He wanted to be sure Amos had his hat on just right!

Oh my, what a character!  Love these of all five of them!

Julie and Jon, thanks as always for letting me be a part of your lives in this way.  I am always overwhelmed by the love within your home….it’s almost tangible!  So happy for all of you-what a blessing Amos is!
